The George Mason Patriots ended their 1999-2000 season on a high
note, winning 7 straight games. After losing 4-3 to #2
Pittsburgh to open the second half of the season, the team
defeated #6 Pennsylvania State-Altoona 6-5, #8 Maryland 9-4,
Pittsburgh's JV team 3-0, #10 Pennsylvania 10-2, SUNY Albany 9-1, #9
Virginia Tech 8-2, and Drexel 7-1.
Aaron Smith, who joined the team midway through season, led
the Patiots in scoring with 30 goals and 13 assists in 8
games. Meanwhile, goaltender Ryan Leach kept most of the pucks
out of GMU's net, posting a 7-1 record and 2.38 GAA over that 8-game
span.
