The 2000-2001 CRHL (Collegiate Roller Hockey League) Mid-Atlantic
Region season will begin on the weekend of October 13-15 at the
Southpointe Iceoplex in Pittsburgh, PA. The tentative schedule
is posted in the "Schedule" link. The region, which
fielded 19 teams last year, is expected to grow to nearly 30
colleges and universities for the 2000-2001 season.
With half of last years team departed, a new crop of players
looks ready and eager to step up. Tryouts will be held in
early September at either the Patriots main practice facility, Slapshotz
in Fredericksburg, VA, or at the newly opened Planet
Hockey in Chantilly, VA. Key returning players
include defenseman Aaron Smith (30 goals, 13 assists in 8 games) and
goaltender Ryan Leach (10-4, 3.14 GAA).
